Diamond Jubilee Swag Decoration

Here's a cheap and easy sway for your Diamond Jubilee / 4th of July celebrations...

red,white and blue easy sew swags.

For a 2metre long swag
you will need:

a red flat sheet
a white flat sheet
a navy flat sheet

  • cut each sheet into approx 30cm strips
  •  (you will get 3 from a single sheet and 6 from a double sheet)
  • sew together along the length on of each colour
  • and hem all around the outside edges
To hang just tie with ribbon in desired places to get desired drape.

*For a longer swag join each coloured strips together along the 30cm edge,
   then sew along the whole of the length of each colour for a neater finish.

For the star garland cut your felt star shapes and continuously sew them together, continue sewing on nothing to get the chain between the stars.

Enjoy The Diamond Jubilee!!!

Emma Bridgewater Factory Shop & Diamond Jubilee

We are SO lucky to live 15 minutes away from the fantastic Emma Bridgewater Factory,
right here in Stoke-on-Trent.

Ooh, I love the signature spots, look even on the aga!

That's where I have been today the have a factory shop and a seconds shop...
(even though I can't afford alot these days)
what appeals to me  about Emma Bridgewater Pottery is firstly it's locally made,
(Buy British!)
secondly they are very practical items and can be used for everyday,
as they are sturdy well made items.
We also love a visit the Emma bridgewater paint a pot Studio on a wet afternoon.
(and the cake in the cafe afterwards!!)
I love the new Diamond Jubilee range...

but I LOVE the Truly Great range as they can be used for other occasions
(like the upcoming 2012 Olympics)

here's my Truly Great wish list is (if anyone wants to grant a wish or two)...

the teapot
the cookie (sausage) tin
the metal tray
the cake stand

This very talented lady (and her staff of course) who just ooze class,

and she has a great sense of humour!
Daniel Craig Tea Towel
Take An Old Bag Shopping

I just bought myself a Truly Great tea towel,
but to use as a decoration for the Diamond Jubilee.

Free Printable - Dust If You Must Poem

I have been clearing out my computer files and thought you guys may like some of the printables...

This is my favourite peom,
it's so important to remember we are only here for such a short time,
and to make the most of it!

as you can't read the text, this is how it goes...

Dust If You Must
Dust if you must, but wouldn't it be better
To paint a picture, or write a letter,
Bake a cake, or plant a seed;
Ponder the difference between want and need?
Dust if you must, but there's not much time,
With rivers to swim, and mountains to climb;
Music to hear, and books to read;
Friends to cherish, and life to lead.
Dust if you must, but the world's out there
With the sun in your eyes, and the wind in your hair;
A flutter of snow, a shower of rain,
This day will not come around again.
Dust if you must, but bear in mind,
Old age will come and it's not kind.
And when you go (and go you must)
You, yourself, will make more dust.
Remember, a house only becomes a home when you can write
"I love you" on the furniture.....

Have Fun!!!
