My favourite site for inspiration a long time has been Mr McGroovy's
where people post their fantastic cardboard box creations.

There are some very, very talented people out there.

If you have some pics of cardboard box creations send them to me and I will add them.

HAVE A FUN STAY AT HOME FAMILY NEW YEARS EVE

Being a single mum, we say at home for New Years,
this doesn't mean we don't have fun mind.

We get our Pj's on and get comfy,
we play board games, watch a holiday movie

and have a special New Years supper (yes in Pj's)
New-Years-Eve-Tabletop

and this year an addition of a  home made confetti (sprinkles) cake like this.

Then at the stroke of midnight we bring in the New Year with a Bang!
If you can’t get out to watch the fireworks, like us, make your own!
Visit a local party store to buy party blowers and streamers

A fun and easy DIY project for your New Years party is creating handmade confetti!
Items from around your house such as tinsel from the Christmas tree, or tissue paper ,
are perfect for use on your festive toss station.

or
punched tissue paper

You could also make homemade blowers as a daytime activity

And don't forget the party hats
I love this (and would be so easy to make with and elastic hairband),

But my 9 yr old son would not LOL
so here's a couple of hats for him

which both give instructions on how to make them.

Then once midnight strikes let your kids let loose as they celebrate the first moments of the New Year.

TABLE FORTS / PLAY HOUSE / TEEPEE / DENS

I have been thinking of things to do indoors as we have had so much snow and freezing weather.
Liam has always loved making dens with sheets, towels over the dining table.
I have been mulling the idea of making a proper den (tent) to use over the table over for months, then I had a lovely unexpected visit last Saturday
from a friend who has currently relocated to the US with her husbands job.

We were dicussing blogging (as we check each others) and Gayle's a play house post on her blog came up.
You gotta check out Gayle's fire house below!!!

so here are a couple of table forts

one for the boys
A mesh port hole, to watch for the enemies
and a flap inside so those badies can't see in!

and one for the girls

It is really easy to make a basic table tent pattern.

Piece one
Measure the width of table add 2" seam allowance (1" each side)
Measure length of the table top add 2"

Piece two (cut two the same)
measure the hieght of the table to the top not the underneath and add 2"
measure the width of the table top add 2"

Piece three (cut one and one with an opening for the door)
measure the height of the table to the top add 2"
measure the length of the table top add 2"

Cut a door that is 3" all round for the door flap.

and then let your creative spirit run wild.

Alittle eye candy for you.....

AND HERE IS IS!!!

I have found another great tutorial to ake a teepee from just a twin / double sheet

They look fab!!!
Cheap enough to make them one each, comes in any colour and washable too!
Great for use indoor or outdoor.

and one for Halloween

The frame ismade with lots of plummers pipes and conectors from your local DIY store.

Maybe a gingerbread house for Christmas?

Red Riding Hood' Grandma's cottage?

Hansel and Grettal?

Shrek's stump?

I also keep looking at the bed canopies at Ikea (£7)

Also good for shade in the summer!!!

You could make your these.....

Red and white spotty for a fairy toadstool?

A blue voile one for under the sea?

red, blue and yellow voile panels for a circus big top?

Silver and blue rocket (you can adapt this below)

For those who need alittle help with the pattern mcalls do one.

Oooo my head is reelling, with inspiration!!!

and so much fun for this time of year, a tent indoors!!!
