A VIDEO MESSAGE FROM SANTA IN LAPLAND / PORTABLE NORTH POLE & SANTA TRACKING FROM NORAD

Oh this is WONDERFUL!!!

Check out
and watch your children's faces light up as Santa speaks to them directly through a video email.
feature photo
He'll use their names, have photo's of them in his naughty or nice book even tell them the gift they really want for Christmas.
This is so much more special than a letter from Santa.

This is the magic Christmas is made from and free!!!

This is free but you can also buy the video download, but I just record Liam watching the video email from Santa on the camcorder as I get his beaming face on record too.
But beware they video disappears when they close the website down in the new year!!!

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Also wanted to say don't forget to track Santa on Christmas Eve too

here on Norad

and get them all excited before bed!!! LOL

The website is up and running from December 1st
with all sorts of games and activities
but to see Santa all over the world this is only on Christmas Eve!

Have magical Christmas fun with your family!!!

YEAH SNOW DAY / FAMILY FUN IN THE SNOW!!!

WHEY HEY first snow on the season!!!

We went out bright and early as din't think it would last long as the sun is out.

So we had the hill to ourselves at first....

Liam is that little dot two thirds the way up the hill.
I don't know what the circles are on the hillside, they can't be seen normally???
We have some great hills in our village, great for sledging and kite flying, we are so lucky.

There wasn't enough snow for our snow rider but Liam loves the frying pan (it looks like one)
because he spins round on it going down the hill and it seems to go faster than any of the sleds.
Then back home for a snowball fight.

Have fun in the  snow with you family!!!

CHRISTMAS SWEETIE / TREAT BAGS - THIS WEEKS OBSESSION

I have been making all sorts of little Christmas sweetie bags,
that cost very little other than time, for the little people.

Also great for putting in Christmas stockings.
Chocolates from Aldi stickers from Hobby craft I think.

RUDOLPH'S SPARES

These were the strawberry fruit pastels which I thought looked like noses.

I wrote the Rudolph's Spares poem on the back (see below)
but it was rather rushed, so messy I will print the rest off

Rudolph has a job to do
Every Christmas Eve, it's true.
His nose will always light the way
For Santa and his tiny sleigh,
But if his nose should ever go out
Don't you cry, whine, yell or pout.
Take out this bag and use a bit.
From "Rudolph's Red Nose Repair Kit"

PENGUIN POOP!
Chocolate raisins LOL

Liam's keeps saying why would I give my friends poop?
and add alittle poem on the back (see below)

I caught a little penguin
With a rope tied in a loop-
It must have really scared him
'Cause he made this
penguin poop

AND THERE'S STILL LOTS MORE TOO COME!!!

And for the big kids.....
made from the mini Christmas chocolate bars from Tesco 80p for four.
I removes the wrappers and used them for a template to cut the new wrappers
drew on them with gel pens
and added snowflake confetti from B & M
These have Elizabeth Shaw mints stuck to the back of the punched circles
with the snowflake confetti again
Put into pretzel bags
They kept sliding on top of each other so I had to stick them to a strip of card.
Next time I will use a smaller scalloped  and circle punch.
Also nice little prezzie for the postie.

Card, punches and pens from CRAFTY URCHINS

CHRISTMAS SWEETIE / TREAT BAGS SNOWMAN SOUP

SNOWMAN SOUP

I love the idea of snowman soup hug in a mug special treats.
So here my take on them.

I make these up ready for a snow day we have people round
as we have some great sledging hills behind the house.
Also had them out to friends kids and some friends who work outside (God love them)

Sachet of hot chocolate
Mini marshmallows
Chocolate lollipop / candy cane for stirring
and a chocolate.

SNOWMAN SOUP POEM
A little cup of cocoa, I am sending out your way.
For you to sip & enjoy on some cold and lonely day.
As you sip this cocoa, it's warmth will warm your heart.
Just like our friendship warmed mine, right from the very start.

The snowman chocolate and lollipop were from Aldi.
For the grown ups (LOL) a Elizabeth SHaw mint and a candy cane stirrer

Not sure I like the colours with the sachets now, humm!!!

So LET IT SNOW  LET IT SNOW  LET IT SNOW!!!

CHRISTMAS SWEETIE BAG TOPPERS - THIS WEEKS OBSESSION

I have been making all sorts of little Christmas sweetie bags,

From "Rudolph's Red Nose Repair Kit"

Rudolph's nose is very bright
He helps guide Santa's sleigh
Without it in the dark night sky
They might not find their way.
So just in case dear Rudy's nose
Is kaput and goes on the blink
We have these spare "red nose seeds"
To repair him in a wink!

PENGUIN POOP

It must have really scared him
'Cause he made this

So listen...here's the scoop!
Instead of getting coal this year,
You get this Snowman Poop!

So here's some snowman poop!

SNOWMAN SOUP

Sachet of hot chocolate
Mini marshmallows
Chocolate lollipop for stirring
and chocolate chips for topping.

REINDEER POOP

Christmas is coming and so are the deer
Listen closely and you will hear,
And 'long with them comes a special treat,
Reindeer droppings for you to eat !!!!!

For all the souls who hate the noise
Of Christmas cheer and lights and toys
For Mr. Scrooge, and Mrs. too,
Here's a little gift for you ...
A lump of coal won't be enough
To make up for the shine and fluff,
So, here's a scoop of reindeer poop
To offset all that Christmas Goop !!!

Christmas is coming
along with Santa and his deer
listen closely on Christmas eve
and maybe you will hear.
while Santa leaves gifts
tied with ribbons and bows
the reindeer leave these droppings
in neat little rows

DINNER TABLE SETTING BLACKBOARD / CHALKBOARD CHARGER PLATES

I saw these gold chargers for 99p but hate the look of the square gold leaf.

and had a light bulb moment.... Christmas, Halloween, Valentines and oh some more occasions

.....so I covered them with blackboard paint
(sand and use a good primer for plastics first).....
.....and used pastels on them (the colours are more vibrant than chalk).....
ready for Christmas dinner.

How about Santa's cookies plate on Christmas Eve?

They can be wiped clean and used for other occasions.

Ready for Halloween

they look fab with white crockery on top!!!

HARRY POTTER DEATHLY HALLOW MOVIE SWEETIE PAPER BAG

Here are our Harry Potter Deathly Hallow movie treat bags....

 printed directly onto paper bags.
I was expecting the image to cover about two thirds of the bags, but not got time to make anymore.

I know taking your own treats is frowned upon but after paying £14 for the two of us to go to the movies,
I don't want to spend another £10 on treats and drinks.

So I find a printable black and white image for the movie and hey presto,
I put in a drink, sweets and pop corn all for a fraction of the cost at the cinema.

I do make another type of paper goody bag and I'll make one up and post it at a later date,
so click to follow.

Have fun with your family!!!

CANDY CANE MOUSE / TWAS THE NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS

I decided to make these as they only cost around 20p each
so Liam can hand them out to his friends at school.

We have now decided to go and hang them on his friends doors
as Liam loves sneeking around for the booing we do at Halloween.

If you google candy cane mouse there are loads of ideas.....
but I gave it alittle extra touch on the flip side,
I wrote the first two lines of Twas The Night Before Christmas
(see below)

Sorry about the photo quality these dark nights are a pain!!!

Twas the Night before Christmas Poem

Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse.
The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,
In hopes that St Nicholas soon would be there.

The children were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of sugar-plums danced in their heads.
And mamma in her ‘kerchief, and I in my cap,
Had just settled our brains for a long winter’s nap.

When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from the bed to see what was the matter.
Away to the window I flew like a flash,
Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash.

The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow
Gave the lustre of mid-day to objects below.
When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But a miniature sleigh, and eight tinny reindeer.

With a little old driver, so lively and quick,
I knew in a moment it must be St Nick.
More rapid than eagles his coursers they came,
And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name!

"Now Dasher! now, Dancer! now, Prancer and Vixen!
On, Comet! On, Cupid! on, on Donner and Blitzen!
To the top of the porch! to the top of the wall!
Now dash away! Dash away! Dash away all!"

As dry leaves that before the wild hurricane fly,
When they meet with an obstacle, mount to the sky.
So up to the house-top the coursers they flew,
With the sleigh full of Toys, and St Nicholas too.

And then, in a twinkling, I heard on the roof
The prancing and pawing of each little hoof.
As I drew in my head, and was turning around,
Down the chimney St Nicholas came with a bound.

He was dressed all in fur, from his head to his foot,
And his clothes were all tarnished with ashes and soot.
A bundle of Toys he had flung on his back,
And he looked like a peddler, just opening his pack.

His eyes-how they twinkled! his dimples how merry!
His cheeks were like roses, his nose like a cherry!
His droll little mouth was drawn up like a bow,
And the beard of his chin was as white as the snow.

The stump of a pipe he held tight in his teeth,
And the smoke it encircled his head like a wreath.
He had a broad face and a little round belly,
That shook when he laughed, like a bowlful of jelly!

He was chubby and plump, a right jolly old elf,
And I laughed when I saw him, in spite of myself!
A wink of his eye and a twist of his head,
Soon gave me to know I had nothing to dread.

He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work,
And filled all the stockings, then turned with a jerk.
And laying his finger aside of his nose,
And giving a nod, up the chimney he rose!

He sprang to his sleigh, to his team gave a whistle,
And away they all flew like the down of a thistle.
But I heard him exclaim, ‘ere he drove out of sight,
"Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good-night!"

CHRISTMAS CHOCOLATES SWEETIES ETC FOR BIRTHDAY PARTIES

I wanted to share alittle birthday party tip with you.

PLAN AHEAD!!!

Think about the theme of you childrens parties for next year NOW
as there are some fab favours around right now for Christmas.

I have picked up these from Sainbury's
And made these Cinderella swetie / treat favour bags.
With a swish of my pen turn into.....
these.....
The shiney card was a pain to photograph but it says
"shoe's can can a girls life.....ask Cinderella!"
Perfect for a Disney Princess Party?

And these great for a Disney Cars / race car sweetie / treat favour bags.
these into these....

I thought the black and white was alittle boring.....
.....so coloured the grass and flag but still wasn't happy with it.....
.....so changed the bag topper to red card.....
but still not 100%.....
so may come back with another option.

What about these for a Peppa Pig Party sweetie /treat favour bags

filled with pink smartees that are in the sweetie tubes that are around at  Christmas
tied with a chiffon ribbon and "pig out!" label.

Sorry not the best of photo's as taken at night.

They also had chocolate footballs, golf balls, and ties great for Dads Birthday and Fathers Day.

I know you have Christmas to think about but give it a little thought and get the goodies.
Just check the dates, most are dated well into 2011.

PAPER SNOWFLAKES

A great snow day project for the family.

These photo's of paper snowflakes inspired a Christmas family project last year,
which we will repeat this year.

There's loads of snowflake templates here
and here.

We used pale blue and white paper.

and here's our window......

FERRERO ROCHE

I love Ferrero Roche, so here's some ways of using them....

Glue the brown wrappers onto a forestry ball
push a cane into the base
stand in a plant pot full of sand.
and everyone can help themselves

as place settings for Christmas, wedding or a meal.
(as above)
